After years as a professional artist leading workshops in painting, sculpture, murals, and found-object art, I began to see a clear thread running in all my work: a deep commitment to student engagement and growth. I transitioned from private commissions to collaborative murals with students in schools, libraries, and museums—not to simply decorate walls, but to create a lasting impact. That experience revealed how much I love working with young people, leading me to pursue an M.A. in Art Education and earn my K–12 certification from Kutztown University. Coming from a commercial art background, I once underestimated the dedication it takes to be a great teacher. It’s not just about being an artist—it’s about caring for your students, building trust, and encouraging creative risk-taking. Teaching is an art in itself, and though I found my calling later in life, I’ve never been more certain of my purpose. I’m excited to keep learning, to inspire creativity, and to grow alongside my students.
